Brazenose Chamber Concerts - Cello and Piano Duo

Concert starts at 7.30pm (Arrival at 6:30pm to meet the musicians and for Instrument demonstrations) St Martin’s Church, High Street St Martin’s, Stamford PE9 2LF Programme: Beethoven - Sonata in G minor for Cello and Piano, Op. 5 No. 2 Rachmaninov - Sonata in G minor for Cello and Piano, Op. 19 Refreshments not included but available to buy on the evening **Please note tickets are non-refundable more about the concert Join us for an expressive duo recital featuring Michael Petrov and Susie Summers in a programme that spans the emotional depth of Beethoven and the sweeping romanticism of Rachmaninov. Award-winning cellist Michael Petrov has captivated audiences and critics across Europe and beyond with his “captivating musical temperament and a direct eloquence” (Die Welt), reflecting his commanding presence on the international stage. Michael will play on a Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume cello dated 1745, kindly loaned by a private individual. He is joined by pianist Susie Summers, a prize-winning alumna of the Royal Academy of Music, London, and Cambridge University, who has performed and worked extensively across UK conservatoires and has broadcast on BBC Radio 3, BBC2, BBC4 and ABC Radio Australia.
