Watercolour

Join us in the gallery for our Watercolour Wednesday afternoon. Got a degree in art or never held a brush before come and paint with Karen. In this session you will be guided step-by-step to create a miniature watercolour landscape painting incorporating a range of techniques. (See photo) All materials provided for this class. This session is very informal and relaxed. It’s taught by veteran watercolour artist Karen Buckels who has spent a lifetime of teaching art. “If yours isn’t at the same standard as mine then it’s my fault and NOT YOURS and i’ve never had a failure yet!” ~ Karen Buckels. This session will start at 1pm. Please note that if you wish to use our Tearoom after the workshop you must book via our website as we cannot guarantee availability. We work hard to price our workshops fairly and offer good value for money. If you have enjoyed one of Karen’s regular watercolour Wednesday classes, this is one four follow on classes offered local artist Karen Buckels to learn techniques for painting floral landscapes using watercolour paint. A prayer group who faithfully meet each Friday morning, to pray together and wait on God. All are welcome to come and join us! Aim is to: Connect with God. Why do we meet?: We meet because we want to know the Lord, to know Him, to be led by Him and to know His will for our lives and the church. What we do?: We seek the Lord and draw near to Him, in prayer, in praise, in song Psalm 100). We also spend time listening and in His goodness the Lord has drawn near to us. What is praying?: You could say it is two-way communication with God, whether in silence, in song, in speaking and in listening. God is able to communicate with us in a variety of ways. Who is it for?: It is for those who want to know the Lord more, and have a desire for God to transform the area, themselves and those they love. Do I have to pray out loud?: Not if you don't want to, just come as you are. Are there any key bible verses that the Lord has shared?: A couple, or favourites would have to be Hebrews 11:6(b) – Those who comes to God must believe He exists and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. Another is Amos 5:4 – Seek me and live [says the Lord]. So do I have to have loads of faith to come along?: Whether you have a lot of faith or a little, come and join us. What have you got to lose? Watercolour Pencil & Stitch

Join Victoria from Little House of Victoria in this is a mixed media workshop for which you will receive a beautiful kit to take home with you and to work on in the class. The kit includes beautiful watercolour pencils, a printed panel in a choice of my designs, a set of pure silk perle and stranded threads, written instructions, and of tuition throughout the workshop. This workshop is completely suitable for beginners and for advanced crafters and stitchers alike. We will first colour in the printed panel with the pencils, before adding water and watching the magic happen, this is so therapeutic! We will then explore ways of stitching to enhance the panel, I will provide as much guidance as possible with the stitching, and if you haven’t stitched for a while or ever before, that is absolutely fine. In terms of design, you can follow my examples, or go completely off piste with your own creation, this is very much encouraged. There will be a choice of printed designs, all measuring 24 x 24 cm, printed on organic cotton. We will also discuss uses for your panels, and how to take them into a project following this workshop.
