What's on in Pimbo Lane

Lancashire, England

The proper local stuff the big sites overlook — from open mic nights to dog shows, toddler groups to talks about local history that turn out to be more interesting than you'd think. Pimbo Lane keeps its calendar surprisingly full, and we've tracked down the lot. Coffee mornings that turn into proper catch-ups. Quiz nights where the same team wins every week and everyone pretends not to mind. Craft fairs, food markets, community screenings, and workshops teaching you things you didn't know you wanted to learn. All the things that make living somewhere feel like actually living somewhere, not just sleeping there.

Exploring Watercolour Workshop Sat 18th April 1:30pm

Join Helen Worthington from Evendawn Arts in this ‘Exploring Watercolour’ Workshop. This is a perfect taster workshop for anyone who’s always wanted to try watercolour painting but have been too nervous to! It’s also great for those with a small amount of experience to practice looser painting styles and build confidence. The aim of this ‘Exploring Watercolours’ class is to have FUN, and to get past the anxiety many people experience when approaching watercolour painting! There is absolutely NO DRAWING involved, so you can simply enjoy playing with the paints, without stressing over the outcome. You’ll explore how to use a basic set of colours and see the way they blend and harmonise on paper, along with using different types of brushes and some more unusual tools to create fascinating effects. There will be a selection of simple and enjoyable exercises, which will offer you a great basis in watercolor painting. You may then want to explore these topics further at later date. This is not the type of class for those with more advanced watercolour skills, or those wishing to learn how to draw/paint landscapes or ‘formal’ types of work. All materials included in this session. Please ensure you bring something suitable to carry your work home in – an A4 folder or envelope will be fine. Please note that if you wish to use Eden’s first floor Tearoom before or after the workshop, even for drinks and cake, you must book a table via the website as availability cannot be...
