Join local teacher Juliet Gallagher for Chair Yoga – a friendly, welcoming class that’s suitable for everyone, whether you’re brand new to yoga or have been practising for years. Chair yoga is ideal if you’d like to improve mobility, balance and wellbeing without having to get down on the floor. Come along, enjoy some mindful movement, and leave feeling lighter and brighter. Juliet is a fully qualified yoga and Pilates teacher with specialist training in Yin Yoga and Yoga for Health, so you’ll be in safe and experienced hands. All welcome – just come as you are. Fownhope table tennis group, having started in 2005, runs regular weekly sessions from 10-12 every Wednesday morning throughout the year, each session costs just £2 pp. The group does not enter competitions or any leagues, but is a social and friendly group that enjoys playing for exercise and fun. Village Evening at the Cricket Nets

Free use of the cricket nets for all Fownhope residents — no booking required, just turn up. The nets are open to everyone in the hour before the Strollers’ regular training session, with a Club officer on site throughout. After that, you’re welcome to stay on and join the training session itself — a great way to meet the team and have a go. Village Membership is not required for Village Evenings, but if you’d like to book the nets independently at other times, this is the perfect opportunity to complete your free induction. The sport is suitable for all ages – we have had members from the age of eleven up to the nineties. All you need is a bit of hand/eye coordination and a sense of humour when things don’t go the way you expected. Why not come along and find out whether this is your cup of tea? We will provide encouragement, training and you can use our club bowls. We will even give you a cup of tea and biscuits in the play interval. And the first two sessions are free while you make up your mind whether this sport is for you!
