Families This Weekend
A tidy shortlist for families who would quite like to leave the house without spending half the morning opening tabs. We keep it local, useful, and blessedly free of events that tell you absolutely nothing.
Not every listing gets a golden ticket
These picks come from the same behind-the-scenes legwork that powers Near Here. We check a frankly silly number of local listings, then keep the family-friendly ones that are nearby, properly described, and worth recommending.

Children-led service alternating monthly with St John's Church, Bishop Monkton
at Burton Leonard Methodist Church
This is a particularly lovely service led by children from our village primary school. They do the readings, write and say the prayers, choose the hymns, sing and play musical instruments. This service is normally 30-40 minutes in duration and as with all our services, everyone of all ages is welcome to join. Whenever possible, it is followed by refreshments in St. Leonard's hall.
