Join writer and teacher, Anna Dempsey, for this five-week course of guided fiction writing, sharing words in a tender, supportive community. This course is perfect for writers of any stage who want to explore their voice, try new ideas, finish a writing project or connect with fellow creatives in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Each week, you will focus on different elements of short story and novel writing including plot, dialogue, character, setting and pacing. You’ll be looking at spring inspired writing and pop culture to do this. Think the ridiculous film Spring Breakers meets Anne of Green Gables meets Mary Oliver in a field of sunflowers. These five weeks are a great time to start a new short story, novel or dive back into some old idea notebooks. Movement at SET is an open space for dancing, stretching and exploring how your body moves. Sessions shift between guided workshops and more open movement time.
