Storm Tower Exhibition

To commemorate the history of the Storm Tower and the historic journey it has experienced, a dedicated exhibition has been installed at The Castle Heritage Centre. The exhibition features information on the Acland family, the history of the Storm Tower, the past and recent moves to preserve the tower, the community’s evolvement and a look at climate change which is the reason why the much loved landmark was moved and saved. July Mount Car Trial

The second field (car) trials that the club are running at a new venue normally used for autotests but sure to offer a challenge for all vehicles The field trial is also a round of the ASWMC Car Trials championship. After much discussion within the committee we are trialling a new class structure for the event, where any two wheel drive car can compete from standard road going car to full blown classic trials special. WHATS A FIELD TRIAL The aim of a trial is to follow a set course (defined by pairs of poles numbered from twelve at the bottom to one at the top) as far as you can without stopping up a grassy field. Once you stop you score the number ahead of you. Speed is not key, reading the ground and maintaining traction is. Uniquely trials are the only form of motorsport that the better you do (further up the hill) the longer the seat time you have!! Passengers are optional for drivers with road licenses, and drivers as young as 14 can also compete. WHAT DO YOU NEED Minimum RS Clubman Motorsport UK License (for all over 18 occupants) Camel Vale Motor Club Membership (or invited club) Two wheel drive car with none aggressive tyres Sense of fun! Introduction to Flower Casting

The process involves arranging delicate plant material on wet clay, removing the plants after they've left an imprint, and then pouring plaster to form a permanent keepsake. These casts can be left plain or painted to highlight the captured textures and patterns, preserving ephemeral beauty in a tangible, long-lasting form. Create your own unique plaster cast tile using clay and plaster. You will be working with seasonal plants, natural materials, seed pods impressing images onto clay and using plaster to create the cast. All materials are included.
