Pokémon joins Trelissick's Summer of Play

Get active and play tennis on the West Lawn, try lawn games or hold a race to the finish line. Who will be the champion? Embrace your creativity and make-believe in the stables where you’ll find a stage ready for you to dress up, put on a show and tell stories. Ready to unleash your energy? On top of an already jam-packed Summer of Play, discover the Pokémon zone on the West Lawn where you’ll find a series of challenges to flex your skills and take part in mega games. Enjoy storytelling from James and Jasper the dragon on 29 July, 12, 15, 19 and 26 August, then clown around every Thursday by honing your circus skills with Circo Kernow. Take aim on Fridays and have a go at archery, there’ll be soft kits for younger families to also have a go, and on 1, 5, 22 and 29 August stretch, breathe and feel calm with outdoor family yoga sessions. Play your way on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and let your imagination lead the way. We can’t wait to see what fantastical creatures you create whether you dress up, tell stories or embrace your artistic side. Explore winding paths on the Trelissick garden trail, running throughout the summer holidays, and find the perfect spots for picnics and chill out spaces. Summer of Play activities are free (normal admission applies), so you can try them all and come back again and again. Dogs on short leads are permitted in the garden at Trelissick, keeping paws on paths. Summer of Play is supported by Pokémon.

Building Trelissick: from farmhouse to riverside estate

Following the popularity of the Honor Budden exhibition Building Trelissick will now start on the later date of 30 April. Trelissick has evolved from a modest farmhouse into a distinguished riverside estate, shaped by the families who lived and worked here. In a new exhibition in the West Library we explore the story of Trelissick house through the evolution of the building’s architecture. This is a free exhibition, admission to Trelissick applies.

The Fort at the end of the road

At the very tip of the peninsula, St Anthony Head is a perfect place to have a walk, a place to sit and stare at the blue yonder, or to stop off for a picnic. Hidden underground, in strange looking buildings and behind locked doors are decades of military history. On selected dates each year we invite you to come along and find out how this quiet corner of Cornwall helped to protect our shores. From the late eighteenth century up to World War Two, this headland has played its part. Tour dates to book in 2026 (two tours each day from 11:00 – 12:30 and 13:30 – 15:00): • Thursday 4 June • Wednesday 8 July • Sunday 2 August • Sunday 13 September (as part of the Heritage Open Days) £5.00 per person (excluding 13 September, which is free to all) Please click to book your spaces.
