What's on in Beambridge

Cheshire, England

Beambridge sits snugly in Cheshire with a quiet charm that makes it easy to overlook until you realise there is plenty going on right here. The village square often hosts a market or community gathering where neighbours swap stories and recipes over tea. It is the kind of place where a sudden rain shower turns into a reason to pop inside for a chat rather than rushing out. Local groups usually organise something for the children, be it a storytime session or a sports afternoon on the green. You can also find regular meetings at the community hall that bring the whole village together without needing to travel far. Near Here keeps track of what is happening so you do not have to ask round the phone box every Sunday morning.

Reccy Session 2 for Shropshire Way 80K

*Fundraiser as part of the Shropshire Way 80K Festival These are led by Nickie and Jen, two of our volunteers. The aim is to show you the route, give you the confidence to use a map, compass and the route description to find your own way on the event day and to provide a view of the course. The sessions will be fun and informal guided walks and will give you the opportunity to meet some of your fellow competitors and share tips. Disclaimer: These sessions are not part of the SW80K Festival and are not covered by its public liability insurance. The volunteers act as guides only and do not assume the role of leaders and take no responsibility for your safety on route. Everyone taking part in these events does so at their own risk. Before you book: Each session will be paced to reflect the pace needed to complete the whole event within the prescribed time. The group will go at the pace of the slowest person, but everyone will need to be confident of keeping with this pace over rough, hilly ground. The cost of each session is £5.00 per person, which will be donated to the Discovery Centre’s charity work. To take part you must carry the following: Sufficient food and water as there are no refreshment stops on route. Clothing suitable for the conditions on the day Map, compass and written route description. This is to ensure you are learning the route rather than just following the group.
