Hazlemere sits quietly in Buckinghamshire, far from the rush but close enough to the city for a quick trip. The Stables has been hosting local acts and community gatherings long before most of us knew how to use a smartphone. The workhouses of Amersham Coaching inns and 18th and 19th century travel Social housing Cottage industries Post War development: – Brazils factory to Tesco – Gas Works to offices – Bus Garage to retirement homes – Workhouse to hospital 1½ to 2 hours. We strongly recommending booking your tickets in advance to guarantee your place on our walks. While we will do our best to accommodate people on the day, places are subject to availability. Notes If you would like to visit the museum on the same day as your walk, this is possible from 11:30am before the walk starts, but there is not time after the walk finishes. If you have queries about accessibility or routes, please get in touch and we would be happy to provide you with detailed information. Join us at our monthly reminiscence group where we share our stories and memories from the past. Everyone is welcome, whether you are a long time Amersham resident, new to the area, or simply interested in meeting new people. We often look at objects from the museum’s collections to get us chatting, talk about a particular theme, or get involved in wider museum projects. These sessions are sociable, stimulating and fun. The sessions are free and last for around an hour and always include tea, coffee and biscuits. You are very welcome to bring a family member, friend or carer.
