Zanshin Karate

At the start of 2015 Zanshin Karate Academy was formed by sensei Brian Bates 5th Dan. He wanted a club that reflected the type of training he was being exposed to on the open seminar circuit and the type of training he was doing at the different clubs he attended. The club takes a more pragmatic approach to its training by applying basic karate techniques against habitual acts of violence rather than the long range applications you often see at mainstream karate clubs. Most of our training revolves around kata where alongside the solo form you will learn partner drills that will transition to pad drills then finally to live practice (sparring). Although karate is predominantly a striking art, through Zanshin’s syllabus you will gain a broad set of skills including throws, chokes, and locks.

Foodbank & Drop In

Dunstable Foodbank is an initiative hosted by a number of churches in our town. We are pleased as a church to serve our community in this venture providing food parcels to those in need. Christ Church Dunstable will be hosting a distribution centre at The Way on Tuesday between 2.30 & 4.30pm and Friday afternoons between 12.30 & 2.30pm, which also includes a drop-in session with light lunch. Dance Connexions

Dance Connexions is an award winning dance school based in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, offering classes to children from 2 to 18 years. Our aim is to provide dance classes to the highest standard that are taught by qualified and experienced teachers in order to educate and encourage anyone who loves to dance in a fun and safe environment. We offer classes in a wide range of genres based on the ISTD syllabus and children have the option to take part in Ballet, Tap and Modern Dance exams. Students also have the opportunity to perform in local shows and events throughout the year. Also all students can take part in our show at the Grove Theatre which gives friends and family a chance to watch them on a big stage. We also offer dance and gymnastic after school clubs to local schools.
