Join us as our resident host, TV’s Matt Richardson, introduces some of the finest comedy talent in the land! Headlining is the wonderful Angela Barnes. Direct from her latest UK Tour – Angst, Angela is a firm favourite on the comedy scene. Before becoming a comedian, Angela worked in health and social care. In 2011, she won the BBC New Comedy Award and became a finalist at the 2011 Latitude Festival New Act of the Year competition. Since then Angela has become a regular on BBC’s The News Quiz, Newsjack and Mock The Week. She has also appeared on BBC Three’s Russell Howard’s Good News, Russell Kane’s Whistle Stop Tour (BBC Radio 2), and BBC Radio 4’s The Now Show. “Feels like a sure-fire bet the instant she utters her opening lines.” (The Scotsman). “The pace is fast, the material strong and the delivery perfect” (Chortle). “She’s just a gloriously down-to-earth, straight-talking and extremely funny comic” (The Guardian). Supporting Angela are two other great comics: Kate Martin – At 6ft 1, with the longest wingspan in comedy (*probably), Kate’s a naturally engaging, energetic performer with effortlessly tight gags to match. Kate was a finalist of the Funny Women Stage Awards 2022, runner-up in the finals of the WDCF New Comedian of the Year competition 2021, and in 2021 won the Comedy Store’s King Gong, Up the Creeks Blackout, and the Frog and Bucket’s Beat the Frog.
