Join us at the historic Houghton Mill for a creative workshop led by Lisa Baker of I Used To Be Textiles. Taking inspiration from our unique heritage and the graceful swans of the River Great Ouse, you will create your own framed textile piece to take home. Whether you choose the elegant swan template or a design celebrating the Mill’s rich history, you’ll leave with a beautiful memento made by you. All materials are provided, and you will finish your piece in a frame, ready to display. No previous sewing experience is required! When: Sunday, 19th July Sessions: 10:00 am – 12:30 pm | 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm Price: £40 per person (includes all materials) Capacity: Limited to 15 spaces per session Book your spot today and weave yourself into the Mill’s story.

Class 2: Writing to Restore Nature: with novelist Menna van Praag Time: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM During this workshop you'll spend the afternoon immersed in the senses - perhaps literally, if we're lucky with the weather! - to enhance your descriptive prose, tying in with the National Trust's ‘Restore Nature’ programme. Using touch, scent, sound and sight you'll learn how to create a world on the page that will make the reader feel as if they've opened the door and stepped outside.
