Toddler group runs on Fridays during term time between 10am and 11.30am. There is a good selection of toys to play with, a sing song and refreshments are served. It costs £2 per session to attend. Open to all pre-school children and their carers.

Open Silent Meditation

The Salisbury Centre is offering a welcoming space for silent community meditation every weekday In the morning at 8:00 – 8:30 am, and In the afternoon at 5:30 – 6:00 pm. Additionally, there is a meditation every Friday 12:00-12:45 pm. These meditations are non-denominational and accessible to all; no experience is needed. The form is 30 minutes of silence, sometimes started with a dedication or invocation. You may sit in any way you find comfortable. A selection of chairs, cushions, stools and even blankets are provided. Practicalities These are 30-minute sessions of silent contemplation (except for Friday 12pm one, which is 45 mins), run by volunteers. Whilst these meditations are not guided as such, feel free to ask if you have any questions or concerns before or after the meditation. Everybody is welcome to just drop in, no need to book ahead. Donations toward the upkeep of the Centre are very welcome but not necessary. Dates First Wednesday of the month: 4th March, 1st April, 6th May 2026, 4th June (Thursday), 1st July, 5th August 2026 18:00 – 21:00 Event info When: monthly on Tuesdays, 6 – 9 pm. Check Eventbrite or The Salisbury Centre website for details. How to attend: please book via Eventbrite here. I can’t guarantee there will be a space for you if you just show up on the day. If the event is booked out, join the waiting list and you’ll be notified when a spot becomes available. The group is open to everyone, both regular members and one-off visitors. If you have a question, email Chris at Room: Art Room, occasionally in the Studio. Suggested donation: £10 – £20. Please refer to the “note on donations” below before you decide on your contribution. Accessibility: Art Room is located on the ground floor, and it is fully accessible. The Studio is not fully accessible. The Salisbury Centre’s kitchen door and toilet are now wheelchair accessible. The Garden can also be accessed by wheelchairs via a movable ramp via the Art Room Annex. Refunds: Automatic refunds will be issued up to 3 days before the event. After that, I can’t issue refunds. What the Authentic Connection Group is about The Authentic Connection Group, is an experimental community space where we practice the art of conscious relating.

Weekly Community Garden Volunteer Sessions (Drop-In)

When: Every Friday, 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM (Drop-in basis) About: Step into our beautiful, thriving community permaculture garden for a day of connection, learning, and growth! Our weekly drop-in sessions are the heart of our green space, where volunteers come together to cultivate not just plants, but a vibrant community. This is your chance to get your hands in the soil, meet like-minded people, and learn practical, hands-on skills. What might you do on a Friday? You could be planting seeds in our 6 raised beds, nurturing seedlings in the greenhouse or polytunnel, learning to maintain our hazel coppice, tending to our fruit trees, or turning our compost system. Explore Edinburgh’s first Seed Library and join our special Seedy Social Seed Library sessions to swap, share, and learn about seed saving. Beyond growing, sessions can involve garden planning, creative nature crafting, food preserving workshops, or community DIY projects. Every task is a chance to learn and contribute. This is a truly collaborative space; we collectively decide what we grow, and volunteer input directly shapes our activities. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or have never held a trowel, you are welcome to join for an hour or the whole day to enjoy the peace of the garden and give back to the community. Community Lunch Every week, we join the community lunch from 1 – 2pm.
