Marty Paich was born 100 years ago in January 1925. His name may not be familiar but You will have heard his arrangements he worked with many jazz greats Art Pepper, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Sammy Davis Jon and Mel Torme. Tonight we celebrate his craft playing charts he wrote for Mel Torme and Sammy Davis Jr. plus new arrangements sung by Mel aficionado Jonny Mosesson arranged by Simon Whiteside who transcribed the Marty Paich charts and loves writing in his west coast style. The Denmark Street Tentet provide the expert backing.
