Mehfil-e-Sitar brings together two exceptional artists for an immersive summer recital rooted in the rich traditions of Hindustani music. Internationally renowned sitar virtuoso Ustad Shakir Khan, son and disciple of the legendary Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan, represents one of the finest musical lineages in Indian Classical music today. Celebrated for his extraordinary artistry, lyrical improvisation, and technical brilliance, Shakir Khan’s performances carry both the depth of tradition and the freshness of contemporary expression. Joining him on tabla is the acclaimed Ustad Shahbaz Hussain, one of Europe’s foremost tabla artists. Drawing from the distinguished traditions of the Delhi and Punjab gharanas, Shahbaz Hussain brings a deeply nuanced, dynamic, and sensitive rhythmic accompaniment that elevates every musical dialogue.
