The St. Birinus Festival returns from Thursday 9th - Sunday 12th July 2026 for a full weekend of solemn liturgy in the ancient Roman Rite at the beautiful medieval Dorchester Abbey . Over four days, the festival will feature sung liturgical services celebrated according to the Traditional Latin Mass, with music provided by The Southwell Consort . The liturgies will be sung in full Gregorian Chant and sacred Renaissance polyphony , accompanied by historic instruments, creating a rich and prayerful atmosphere worthy of the abbey’s ancient setting. Set in the historic town of Dorchester-on-Thames , the St. Birinus Festival offers a rare opportunity to experience the sacred music of the Church in its proper liturgical context across an entire weekend of worship. Visitors are warmly invited to attend and take part in this celebration of the Church’s musical and liturgical heritage.
