- Huddersfield Town’s 2026/27 EFL Trophy group confirmed- Town face Doncaster Rovers, Rochdale, and Liverpool U21s in Group H of Northern Section- Group finalised at 2.30pm on Thursday 25 June with addition of U21 opponent Huddersfield Town’s 2026/27 EFL Trophy group has been confirmed, with the Terriers set to face fellow Sky Bet League One side Doncaster Rovers and Sky Bet League Two newcomers Rochdale as well Premier League U21 side Liverpool U21s in Group H of the Northern Section. The final member of Group H has been confirmed, with Town now also joined by Liverpool U21s. Beginning with a Group Stage that consists of 16 regionalised groups of four teams each - eight each in the Northern and Southern Sections - the 48 eligible EFL sides from across Sky Bet League One and Sky Bet League Two are joined by 16 invited Under 21 sides from Premier League academies. Set to commence from early September 2026, exact fixture dates and attendance information will be confirmed in due course. The top two sides from each group will progress to the knockout stages, with the EFL Trophy remaining regionalised until the Quarter Final stage. All matches level after 90 minutes will be determined by penalty kicks up to, and including, the Semi Finals.
