Key Features: In the classroom: - Learn the basic theory necessary for looking after bees - Learn about their biology, life cycles and roles of each type of bee - Learn about the basic threats to bees such as pests and diseases - Learn about the basic equipment and hive types - Learn about the products of the hive and how we harvest them - Learn about the national associations involved in beekeeping and the major suppliers, and where to obtain further information - Tea/coffee is available during the theory session, and it is advisable to bring additional fluids for the practical session, particularly if it is warm.
