St Chad’s Friday Concerts

, Friday 5th June, 12.30pm. We welcome Nicholas Freestone, Assistant Organist of Worcester Cathedral. He is one of the up and coming younger organists, and is moving to a post at Westminster Cathedral later in the year. Take this opportunity to come and hear him. Lunch afterwards as usual. Ex Cathedra

7.30pm, Friday 5th June St Chad’s Church. A European Grand Tour Programme to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of Dr Charles Burney. This programme of European music from Burney’s era (1726–1814) pays tribute to the Shropshire-born musician, composer, historian, and writer whose work shaped musical understanding across Europe. The concert is preceded at 6.30pm by a 30‑minute discussion on Burney’s life and legacy with Ex Cathedra’s director, Jeffrey Skidmore. Information and tickets here .

Alex Cama’s ordination

at Lichfield Cathedral in on Saturday, 27 June 4pm – Susan Kynaston has booked a 34 seater coach to transport parishioners wishing to attend to Lichfield Cathedral and back. Departure is from St Chad’s car park at 2pm, returning approx. 8pm. There is no charge for the coach but donations towards the £600 cost would be very welcome. Those wishing to take the coach might with to pack a drink and a snack for the journey.
