Joining them in Parbold is the celebrated guitarist, Craig Ogden. The concert celebrates tango’s long love affair with cinema, featuring iconic music from Por una Cabeza and Last Tango in Paris to Tango de Roxanne from Moulin Rouge. Since 1921, when Rudolf Valentino’s brief dance in The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse made him the defining screen idol of the silent film era, directors have returned to tango for its intensity and drama, with memorable on-screen moments from Sean Connery, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jennifer Lopez. Its most explosive cinematic encounter remains the climactic scene of Moulin Rouge, with Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor.
