Snowgoose Experience the timeless, harmony-rich folk-rock of Snowgoose live! Tonight they perform as an acoustic duo, bringing their enchanting indie charm to the Church. Featuring the spellbinding vocals of Anna Sheard and the beautiful guitar work of Jim McCulloch (Soup Dragons/BMX Bandits), and with a reputation for transforming venues into intimate, dream-like soundscapes, this promises to be a special night of evocative musical storytelling to open the inaugural Shepton Midsummer Fest. Youtube clip: Snowgoose Jayefel J Fashole-Luke (Jayefel) is a multi-instrumentalist who is in high demand particularly for live piano performances so what a treat to have him performing on the beautiful grand piano of St Peter & St Paul’s. Jayefel has performed all over Europe at Jazz Festivals (including Montreaux, Vienne, North Sea, Swanage and Vienna Jazz Festivals and in UK at Glastonbury, Bestival, Boomtown, Shambala, Hyde Park, Victorious and Isle Of Wight Festivals), as well as many other public performances and private engagements. During this time J has performed with top British jazz artists including Gary Crosby, Jay Phelps, and Tony Kofi, accompanied pop icons Melanie Blatt, Tallia Storm and Alexandra Burke, and has even jammed with American jazz legends Marcus Miller, Isaiah Sharkey and the late great Roy Hargrove.

Jazz Sunday: Cissy & Dan Hughes + Vinyl DJ’s

Following their chance re-encounter in the south-east corner of Glastonbury Festival in 2024, old schoolmates CISSY + Dan Hughes have been writing and performing as a duo and sharing their love for jazz and folk styles. As well as performing their favourite standards from these genres, the pair also enjoy sharing their own tunes, touching on themes of love, loss and the natural world. CISSY + Dan have been known to use Shepton Mallet as a rehearsal base of late so you may have already heard them at the Sunday Jazz sessions in Bar501 so we are really excited to have them returning to play at our FREE OPEN-AIR JAZZ SUNDAY in the Market Place in the heart of the town. The afternoon kicks off with some beautiful vinyl selections spun by DJs from the Bar 501 Jazz Sunday sessions. This event has been supported by Shepton Mallet Town Council.
