What You’ll Learn from Carla: Join me as I teach my intuitive process of building exciting layers with different mediums. We will be using inks, acrylic, pens & stencils to create a beautiful abstract botanical piece full of energy & detail. Experimenting with organic shapes, mark making & contrast, this workshop will teach you to enjoy the process more than focussing on the outcome. What you’ll learn: Ways to let go of perfectionism & bring freedom into your initial marks How to bring energy, movement & light into your abstract floral art Embrace “happy accidents” as you introduce pattern How to create depth & contrast with colour & tone Ways to embellish your floral art for a strong finished piece of art What’s Included Expert tuition throughout Tea, coffee & homemade cake Your finished piece to take home Workshop Details Date: Monday 29 June 2026 Time: 10am – 4pm Skill Level: Beginner/Intermediate Price: £65 per person Places: 10 maximum Tutor: Carla Jennings Supply list of what to bring will be sent on booking; please email if you want advance notification. What we all love about it: There’s no pressure: you bring your project (or ideas) and work at your own pace The vibe is warm, informal, and friendly — perfect for chatting, sharing tips, or just enjoying creative company It’s open to all levels: absolute beginner, intermediate, or seasoned stitcher You get to see what others are up to — it’s inspiring and encouraging Cake, we always have cake and lots of coffee There’s something so soothing about settling in with needle and thread, a cuppa nearby, and time to just make. If you’ve ever been curious to try something new (embroidery, quilting, mending, whatever), this might be your kind of space. We have huge tables to lay out projects on or put quilts together on, and sewing machines and overlockers you can use. The view’s not too bad either

Make a Raggy Quilt – A Relaxed Sewing Workshop

Join us for a relaxed but full morning of tuition on the techniques and stages involved in creating a beautiful textured raggy quilt. Depending on how big you want your quilt – you may not finish your quilt in this session but will leave with a good start made on your quilt in this fun workshop that you can then easily carry on at home and keep making it as big as you choose. This makes an ideal lap quilt, baby cot quilt, picnic blanket. They are very versatile quilts and hardwearing and need to be used and not just admired! 1 charm pack will make a small quilt of 25″x29″, 2 charm packs would be 37″x37″ which is standard baby size. What you’ll get: *Step-by-step tuition in raggy quilt techniques*Guidance suitable for beginners*A relaxed, social sewing environment*Quilting techniques*Expert tuition throughout*Tea, coffee & homemade cake What you need to bring: Depending on how big you want your quilt to be; and you can easily extend it after the workshop – as a minimum for the morning you will need: *For the Top of Quilt – At least 1 Charm Pack of Quilting Cotton Fabric, these are normally 40 or 42 x 5″ squares – I can help you source these if stuck, don’t worry. *For the Back – 1m Backing plain Fabric of same quantity per pack of charm squares*1m of cotton flannel or batting/wadding – cotton, bamboo, recycled is fine.

Workshop Overview Celebrate the beauty of nature in this workshop where we will be focussing on two ‘daisy’ projects: A daisy-chain keychain and a miniature floral wall hanging. This relaxed and friendly workshop is perfect for complete beginners as well as those looking for their next textile art project. Under the guidance of Lucy, you’ll learn a few basic knots and techniques of Macramé and go home with a keychain and wall hanging in a choice of colourful yarns. Perfect gift for a loved one or instead keep for yourself. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or have never touched a sewing machine, we’re launching a brand new monthly Bag Club. Every month, we’ll gather at the Barn to: Work on Your Own Projects: Bring that half-finished tote or that favorite repair you’ve been meaning to get to. The Group Project: We’ll sometimes also work together on a simple, fun bag project—perfect for learning new skills in a relaxed environment. Talk Shop: Hardware, fabrics, patterns, and inspiration—all things bag-related! June Fused Glass Workshop

Get creative this spring with our Fused Glass Workshop at the Cornish Craft Barn.A hands-on, relaxed workshop where you’ll learn the basics of fused glass and make 3 of your own colourful unique designs. During this relaxed and hands-on session, you’ll learn how to cut, layer and design glass to create your own unique pieces. You will make at least three beautiful glass projects to take home and treasure or gift to someone special. Projects will be taken to be fired and will be usually ready to collect about a week later. All materials and tools are provided and no previous experience is needed – just come along, have fun and discover the magic of fused glass! Your tutor is an experienced Adult Education tutor who has been teaching glasswork for nearly fourteen years and academic courses for over seventeen years. Passionate about sharing her craft, she’ll guide you step by step through the process, offering plenty of tips and inspiration along the way. Please note: Wear old clothes and bring an apron No open-toed shoes, please Long hair must be tied back for safety Come and spend a joyful morning learning a new skill, meeting like-minded makers, and getting into the festive spirit.
