BBC Radio 1 featured artist Rosie Holloway brings her debut show to PizzaExpress Live for the long awaited launch of her EP, London Girl. Expect lots of surprises including a brand new string arrangement of her latest single, Heartbeat. Special guests tbc. Born to Irish descendants, Rosie was raised in London, training in guitar from a young age under Tim Pells across a range of genres, alongside classical vocal training to Grade 8 with Carol Savage. She developed a deep love for songwriting in her teens, drawn to the art of storytelling through music. A multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, Rosie blends soul, folk and jazz with a distinctly classic British songwriting style. Inspired by artists such as Bill Withers, Tracy Chapman, Eva Cassidy, Elton John and The Beatles, she has secured a publishing deal with BMG and performed at renowned venues including Upstairs at Ronnie Scott’s and Glastonbury Festival. Her debut EP London Girl captures the story of a working-class woman in her 20s, exploring life’s trials and tribulations with humour and heartfelt honesty. The project moves fluidly across soul, jazz and folk, always in service of the music. She now looks forward to bringing her show to the iconic PizzaExpress Live.
