In addition to their classical credentials, the Northern String Quartet has gained recognition in the Candlelight & Fever String Quartets circuit, where they perform dynamic renditions of modern pop music across the UK. Their diverse portfolio includes high-profile performances at concerts, weddings, corporate events, and as sought-after session musicians in recording studios. The quartet is also a popular choice for supporting strings on UK artist tours, showcasing their adaptability and wide-ranging expertise. Notable recent performances include a prominent appearance at the AO Arena in Manchester for BBC One’s Big Night of Musicals 2025, a National Lottery Funded event, where they performed alongside a full orchestra to great acclaim. With a repertoire that spans both classical and contemporary genres, the Northern String Quartet remains at the forefront of the UK’s vibrant music scene, consistently delivering exceptional performances and contributing to the development of both live and recorded music. Join us for a classical concert by the Northern String Quartet at Threlkeld Village Hall on Thursday 3rd September at 7:30pm. The programme will be included here soon, but it is expected to include all of Vivaldi’s seasons plus some other pieces.
