About this event

Saxon Fayre Sat 25th July 10.30am-5pm (church part ends at 4pm) All Saints Kingston is one of three venues for the Saxon fayre this year with demonstrations and small animals outside on the South Lawn and performances and exhibits inside for children and adults including Saxon Coronation workshops from “Story Storks”, talks from Kingston Tour guides, historical dancing, music, chess, crown making and clay table for children, our own seven saxon kings embroideries, RBKares “cloak of hope”, Flax harvesting (very appropriately it is ready for harvest in time for the Saxon Fayre) and demonstration on how to harvest it between 10-11am . Anyone interested in seeing how this is done or harvesting and tying the bundles themselves is invited to be involved. Sarah in the Café will be doing a “Saxon Special” – traditional Beef brisket sandwich on malted thick bread and Elderflower and blackberry punch. Pop into church for a historic bite to eat – a great place to escape the heat and bustle of the day! There will also be lots of activities in the ancient marketplace and memorial gardens including re-enactors, stalls, games, (more!) animals and a parade, fun for all. Please do come along for some Saxon fun
