243 years of history in the Gem of the Northwest for the taking! You are invited to take a guided tour of the third oldest continually operating theatre in England. Originally built in 1782 during the reign of George III and rebuilt in 1908 to its current Edwardian style, you will hear about its long and lively history and how it has developed into what you see today. A backstage and front of house tour is yours for the taking during which you will see the ornate auditorium and the wonders of the hidden, functional world behind the curtain. Stand on the stage and see what it looks like to be a performer! Hear about the people who ran the Grand over the years, what they did to it and who has appeared here. If you are lucky, you may even see the ghost! Information: Saturday morning tours start at 10.30am from the foyer coffee bar, weekday daytime tours start at 2pm from the foyer coffee bar, and they last approximately one and a half hours. It is possible to book places on the day but tours will only take place if there are already some pre-booked places for that particular date. Due to the historic nature of our Grade 2 listed building certain parts of the theatre are only accessible via steps or stairs. Private group bookings are possible on other dates. Please contact the Box Office on 01524 64695 to discuss.

The Bohemians

Queen’s Greatest Hits with The Bohemians Don’t Stop us Now-and there's certainly no stopping this comprehensive re-enactment of Queens greatest hits! One of the UK’s longest running and Internationally renowned Queen Tribute band, The Bohemians, take you on ahigh-energy roller-coaster ride of a concert, featuring the music, costumes, and show man ship of one of the world’s most popular and iconic rock acts of all time, Queen. Billed as ‘The World’s most exciting Queen Tribute’ The Bohemians start proceedings as they mean to continue. Right from the beginning you will be gripped by a bombastic, authentic audio visual representation of Queen’s iconic Wembley ‘86 performance as the Bohemians burst onto the stage to the strains of One Vision and A Kind of Magic. So many fabulous hits to be covered but they’re all here, from the early piano and harmony heavy wonders of Killer Queen and Don’t Stop Me Now, to the later, catchy pop anthems of the eighties. The second hour concentrates on the later hits and once again there is an array of brilliance to embrace. The stunning, Breakthru provides both the introduction and the costume presentation for this part of the set which includes a new feature of the Bohemians stage show, a slick rendering of classics from the late eighties and early nineties era. I Want it all, The Show must go on and the haunting, Days of our Lives are just some of those featured. The set then pay tribute to the sights and sounds of the famous Live Aid...
