We will start the evening with a tasting in the shop followed by a dinner downstairs, hosted by Jose Giminez the CEO and Diana Fornesaro The Winemaker at Vina Cobos. In 1989, Paul Hobbs visited Mendoza for the first time. Driving over the Andes from Chile with his longstanding friend Jorge Catena, brother of Nicolas Catena, he fell in love. Utilising his connections to the US, Paul created a route to market for Argentinean wine, propelling Malbec onto the international wine scene. He challenged the notion of Malbec being only a 'blending grape'. Paul went on to establish Vina Cobos in 1991.
