Our monthly comedy night from Hilarity Bites Comedy Club with live standup comedians Bethany Black, Jon Pearson, Lenny Sherman, and host Carl Jones. ▪ Bethany Black Bethany Black has been a professional stand-up comedian since 2004. Her debut show ‘Beth Becomes Her’ detailed the story of her being transgender, chronicling everything from her coming out through her transition and eventually falling in love. It was nominated for Best Debut at the Leicester Comedy Festival in 2008, eventually losing out to Sarah Millican. Over the course of her career Beth has performed alongside some of the biggest names in comedy, including Alan Carr, Sarah Millican, Tim Minchin and Rhys Darby. “Her journey to Channel Four, ‘Doctor Who’ and steadily rising star status makes for hilarious if sometimes incredulous listening” – – Three Weeks ▪ Jon Pearson Jon began standup comedy in 2010, with his first performance at Birmingham’s Highlight Comedy Club. Cut to the present and Jon has become a regular face on the circuit, performing at prestigious clubs such as The Glee, The Boat Show & The Comedy Store, Jon’s career has even taken him overseas with performances in Spain, Norway and even as far away as Wigan (it is like being on another planet). “Very tall and hugely funny” – Lucy Porter ▪ Lenny Sherman Lenny Sherman is a comedian, actor and lovable Cockney geezer.
