IMC Presents Songs in the Key of Life

Returning after fifteen sold-out shows, IMC have a special new concert celebrating one of the greatest and most influential albums of all time. Groundbreaking and endlessly innovative, Songs in the Key of Life marks the creative high point of the musical genius that is Stevie Wonder. An epic double album melding soul, funk, jazz and R&B, it’s his most critically-acclaimed and best-selling album, the impact and legacy of which continues to reverberate in music today. To mark the 50th anniversary of its release in 1976, IMC will dedicate a whole concert to this masterwork, bringing their trademark rich vocal harmonies, stunningly soulful vocals and deep bass grooves to bear in 18 original new arrangements. From the glorious funk of Sir Duke and I Wish to the achingly beautiful soul of Love’s in Need of Love and Ordinary Pain, there’s something for every Stevie Wonder fan here. Established in 2017, the Independent Musicians Collective are a talented 10-piece vocal collective who perform with four piece band (keys, bass guitar, electric guitar and drums). They perform original vocal-driven arrangements, specialising in jazz, soul, blues, gospel, motown, disco, funk, house and pop anthems. They have performed on London Live TV, and in top venues including The Troubadour, The Hampstead Jazz Club, Wonderville London, Spice of Life and Soul Mama. They have performed in fifteen sell-out shows at Pizza Express Holborn and made their sell-out debut at The Pheasantry last year.
