Blackadder Goes Forth is a brilliant blend of biting satire and poignant storytelling, following Captain Blackadder and his companions as they navigate the absurdities and horrors of life on the Western Front—where laughter and loss sit side by side. ALPs has brought some beautiful productions to Warminster from Comedy to Drama – with the latest ‘The Girl on The Train’ having sell out Audiences. This production of ‘BlackAdder goes Forth’ commemorates the 110th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme. It is a dark historical comedy set in the trenches of World War I, blending sharp satire, absurd humour, and a deeply poignant ending. Based on the life of ceramic artist Clarice Cliff who broke the glass ceiling and revolutionised the workplace at a pottery factory in the 1920s. She covered up the imperfections of undecorated sub-standard ceramics with bright Art Deco-style patterns and helped the factory survive the Great Depression. 1 hour 50 minutes Cert.
