Singer Lucy-Anne Daniels’ success in the 2025 annual Musicians' Company Young Jazz Musician Award revealed one of the most promising jazz singers of her generation. Her 'winner's gig' features Lucy-Anne’s outstanding collaborators. Growing up immersed in the vibrant worlds of gospel and jazz, Lucy-Anne is a natural performer and vivid storyteller. Blending her love for theatre and spoken word, with an embodied reverence for music, every performance is full of emotion and a deep sense of communion. Aged just 23, she has already made appearances at the BBC Proms and leading jazz clubs in Paris, New York and London. Her sound is shaped by influences ranging from Betty Carter to Kim Burrell, C?cile McLorin Salvant to Nina Simone - all tied together, by her rich tone and playful approach to music-making. As the winner of the 2025 Tina May Young Jazz Musician Award, judges praised her “rhythmic freedom and inventiveness… and irresistible sense of sheer enjoyment”. Tonight, she presents a set of reimagined standards and songs from classic musicals. Lucy-Anne Daniels (vocals) Alex Bryson (piano) Lorenzo Morabito (double bass) Jack Thomas (drums)
