Exploring COLOUR: Painting with Collage (12+ years)

Join Frank Hayes to create exciting compositions in strong colours inspired by S.J. Peploe’s work in this workshop for young people, aged 12+. With a focus on the wealth of colour Peploe adorned his work with, this workshop will be an opportunity to spend some fun creative time making compositions with a focus on process and taking some much needed time out for our creative wellbeing. Join in and get your arty mojo on and be inspired by the S.J. Peploe exhibition. Frank Hayes has broad and varied experience including as a Photographer, Illustrator, Printer, Environmentalist and Mentor. He is the founder and Creative Director of For Enjoyment CIC a successful social enterprise running in the region since 2016. Frank is committed to nurturing the artistic ability within everyone and improving mental and social health, confidence and wellbeing through the power of art, creativity and the environment. His own practice is inspired by a love of natural history in particular the wealth and diversity to be found in Dumfries and Galloway. A love of Sc-Fi and classic graphic artists and illustrator’s from the 1970’s also feature as a backdrop to his intricate and highly designed pieces. Working in ink, pencil and using classic restored Rotring pens and Japanese dip pens a focus on movement and accuracy of detail in his subjects makes for intricate and beautiful compositions.
