About this event
11am-12pm, hybrid, £20 // Victoria was queen for over 60 years (1837-1901) and her reign sees a changing pattern of art and the arguments surrounding it. A new world of patrons and galleries emerges. Come along and experience Victorian Art from the final works of Turner, the Pre-Raphaelites and their followers to the Nocturnes of Whistler. No previous knowledge required. Jill Stern is an historian by training. Her master’s degree was in the Art and Culture of the Dutch Golden Age and Art History also featured in her doctoral thesis and subsequent book. She is currently teaching two classes of Victorian Art for the University of the Third Age.
