Britain’s favourite type of takeaway food, Indian cuisine reflects an 8,000-year history of various groups and cultures interacting with the Indian subcontinent, leading to diversity of flavours and regional cuisines found in modern-day India. Spend a day learning to make basic Indian cuisine under the expert guidance of our cookery school teacher. Learn how to blend and cook traditional spices to unleash their full potential, as well as exploring the various regional dishes and styles of Indian cookery. Each student will have their own work station, equipment and ingredients to work with. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT – TECHNIQUES SUCH AS: + Masala Spice Blends + Unleashing Spice (Tadka/Tempering Methods) + Basic Indian Breads: Roti/Naan + Traditional North Indian Dishes and Techniques + Traditional South Indian Dishes & Techniques + Regional Curry Bases and Influences + Rice Preparation Exact recipes for this class will vary by season. WHERE: Blackfriars Cookery School TIMES: 9.30am to 4.30pm COST: £175 per person which includes refreshments throughout the day, a communal lunch with wine, regional beverage and coffee in the Cookery School, your own apron and recipes to take home.
