The first part of the workshop will be spent drawing around St Ives Harbour, exploring various abstract approaches to capture different elements of the scene. Back in the studio, you will be shown how to extract a composition from your drawings to develop into a fresh mixed-media abstract piece. Using a combination of drawing, collage and acrylic paint, you’ll experiment with layering, editing and reworking your ideas, discovering new ways to build a composition that feel expressive and individual.
