BBC Radio 1 featured artist Rosie Holloway brings her debut show to PizzaExpress Live for the long awaited launch of her EP, London Girl. Expect lots of surprises including a brand new string arrangement of her latest single, Heartbeat. Rosie is thrilled to make her full band debut at PizzaExpress Live, accompanied by a stellar six-piece band in celebration of her EP, London Girl. The evening will feature heartfelt storytelling behind her songs, followed by a second set devoted to soul, disco, and UK garage tracks, all reinterpreted with sophisticated live arrangements. Born to Irish descendants, Rosie was raised in London, training in guitar from a young age under Tim Pells across a range of genres, alongside classical vocal training to Grade 8 with Carol Savage. She developed a deep love for songwriting in her teens, drawn to the art of storytelling through music. A multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, Rosie blends soul, folk and jazz with a distinctly classic British songwriting style. Inspired by artists such as Bill Withers, Tracy Chapman, Eva Cassidy, Elton John and The Beatles, she has secured a publishing deal with BMG and performed at renowned venues including Upstairs at Ronnie Scott’s and Glastonbury Festival. Her debut EP London Girl captures the story of a working-class woman in her 20s, exploring life’s trials and tribulations with humour and heartfelt honesty. The project moves fluidly across soul, jazz and folk, always in service of the music.
