Sip & Clay at Caritas St Joseph's

Join us for an immersive and hands-on pottery workshop at Caritas St Joseph’s in Hendon, in support of the centre’s life-changing work with people with intellectual disabilities. Cost: £40 (includes all materials, glazing, firing, snacks and two drinks; additional drinks may be purchased at the event) To reserve your place, email or call . Pre-booking is required as spaces are limited. Tickets are non-refundable. Please note that this event is not open to students of the centre.

Signed Mass

The Deaf Community Mass is at 4:30pm and there is an opportunity for confession before Mass starts. Mass is accessible in British Sign Language (BSL) and in spoken English. Everyone is welcome. Entrance to the hall is through the red doors in the choir school car park (the Hall is also wheelchair accessible). Come and join us for our signed Mass. We look forward to seeing you.

CPD: Trauma and Trauma informed support

Trauma and Trauma informed support This CPD training for counsellors and psychotherapists will help develop competencies for working therapeutically with trauma in the context of your client’s spirituality. You will learn about polyvagal and somatic approaches to trauma as well as the spirituality of trauma recovery and safe connecting. About the trainer: Nikki Dhillon Keane is an accredited practitioner, clinical supervisor, writer and trainer with over 20 years’ experience working with survivors of domestic abuse in faith settings. Her books include “Domestic Abuse in Church Communities” (redemptorist) and she has worked with BACP and ACC to develop guidance and competencies for practitioners working with domestic abuse.

CPD: Working with internalised Abuse

While a lot has been written about internalised oppression, there has been very little study on internalised abuse; how the perpetrator’s voice starts to feel like the client’s own thoughts. Internalised abuse can inform client choices about safety seeking and be a barrier to recovery. Join specialist Nikki Dhillon Keane, a leader on internalised abuse and internalised spiritual abuse to learn how to work effectively with these challenges in therapeutic practice.
