About this event
A brief introduction followed by going into making small photomontages using cut and paste to get a feel for the medium and its possibilities. There will also be a visual presentation to show how photomontage began as we know it in the early 20th Century in movements like Dada and Cubism. Then we move on to making a bigger, more considered piece which can be a free exploration or to explore a theme / idea like personal history / family photos or historical / political themes or any other subject which interests you. This is also where we can bring in drawing and painting to make mixed media imagery. You will need: One small sketch book A4 or 5 One larger sketch book A3 or loose sheets of A3 Glue e.g. Pritt Stick Scissors Water based paint you like to use e.g. watercolour, gouache etc. Pencils and brushes Printed photographic imagery you would like to use in photomontages, which you are happy to cut up i.e. bring copies of precious originals. Any questions please contact Ann Chester King
