About this event
Prolific Victorian architect, Sir George Gilbert Scott, designed the Albert Memorial, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, cathedrals, churches, public buildings, the Midland Grand Hotel at St. Pancras - and even Pippbrook House itself! However, this brilliant talk by Nigel Lowey is not just about Scott's buildings. Via his extensive research, Nigel came to expand his subject to include the Industrial Revolution, workhouses, the Victorian Revival of the Church of England, Political unrest and the Great Reform Act which changed our electoral system. Tickets: £13 | Friends of Dorking Halls: £11 The pre-talk tour of Pippbrook House is now fully booked
