Due to overwhelming demand this tour is balloted. You may request to be added to the ballot by emailing up until 23 August, 5pm The ballot will be drawn from all request applications before this date and you will be contacted if you were successful or not on Monday 24 August. Tour takes place on Thursday 18th September at 11am & 2pm The owner will lead the group through this medieval hall house, early 17th Century three storey parlour wing with 2nd floor jetty, various later extensions, and an 18th Century separately listed barn, all within the beautiful setting of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. During the tour, visitors will be given a brief account of the architectural history of the property. They'll be able to see historic features including three inglenook fireplaces, a bread oven, a later brick cooking range, stone flooring and the exposed part of the original crown post roof with its smoke-blackened braces. There are carpenter's assembly marks, witches and other markings on historic beams and a post with rare carved balls on its capital, plus plenty more. Talk will take place at Pippbrook House, RH4 1SH This informative and fascinating talk by birding expert, John Lawrence, will introduce around 40 of the birds most commonly seen in and around British gardens, providing insight into ways of identifying different species and about their typical characters. Describing the differences between males, females and youngsters, John will play associated birdsong, teaching the differences between calls, whilst providing enlightening anecdotes about the birds' behaviour. Touching too on recent trends in bird numbers and threats from climate change, disease and predation, John will also include tips on how we can all help them to prosper and recover. Jacky Power Poetry Workshop - Permission to Feel Connected to Your Inner Child

This poetry workshop takes place at Pippbrook House, RH4 1SH Therapeutic poet and trauma therapist (MSc Addiction Psychology & Counselling, MBACP, EFTi), Jacky Power, returns to Pippbrook House with her new "Permission to Feel" workshop series. There is a version of you that existed before you learned to adapt, to only show the parts of yourself that were acceptable. Before someone taught you that your spontaneous, joyful self needed to be quieter. Before you learned that your needs were inconvenient, that the wrong kind of feeling made things difficult for everyone. Beneath beneath, undeterred is you. This workshop uses Transactional Analysis to understand how we learned to separate from our inner child and what we can do to find our way back. Explore the ego states we move between, the injunctions we absorbed without knowing, and the difference between the child who learned to adapt and the child who still knows how to choose joy. Using poetry, accessible theory, and writing to move through four things, in this supportive workshop explore: Understanding why we disconnected from our inner child, and when Identifying the limiting beliefs that we still carry Meeting the free child, the part that was there before the adapting began Letting them finally speak No writing experience needed.
