Film Screening of The Phoenix of Gaza, live Q&A with Director. The Phoenix of Gaza is a powerful, multi-award winning documentary that shows rare footage of Gaza before the destruction began. It is deeply personal film that invites viewers to see Gaza through the Director’s eyes exercising a creativity and a resilience, and a beauty, that refuses to be extinguished. A unique opportunity to hear Yousef Alhelou, the Director and Producer of the film, who will be joining for a live Q&A and post screening discussion. Doors 6.45pm. Start 7pm. Ticket Price £10.

Jonny will be performing work from his upcoming solo release, entitled “Factories” inspired by the ambient music of artists such as Brian Eno, guitar icon Derek Bailey, and pianist Matthew Bourne. Trombonist Will Osborne will plays calypso rumba, choro, mento, beguine and merengue- and jazz! Will Osborne is a consumate trombonist – not just in playing jazz and big band music but also calypso rumba, choro, mento, beguine and merengue. He co leads the popular Big Bamboo with an acoustic and improvised style reminiscent of New Orleans jazz. He is passionate about early calypso and beguine. With Rush Hour Jazz he’ll be playing some of his more jazzy side accompanied by the JazzLeeds trio. Chill out with a drink or coffee after work for an hour’s jazz in Seven Bar Seven Bar 6-7/15pm Pay What You Feel donations. Organised by JazzLeeds.
