Join artist educator Jasmin Bhanji at the Aga Khan Centre in King’s Cross to explore Islamic art and culture in your curriculum. Delivered in partnership with Aga Khan Centre, this workshop will explore how to include Islamic art and culture in the school curriculum and how teachers can use the Kings Cross-based centre and exhibition programme as a teaching resource. The session will include a tour of the centre, a curator introduction to the exhibition, ‘Canticle of the Birds’ with curator Esen Kaya, and a creative activity with artist educator Jasmin Bhanji. This workshop is part of a two-year curriculum development project led by Jasmin on creating diverse art and design curriculum which is representative of our school communities. This workshop is fully funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation and is free to attend, but booking is essential. About Aga Khan Centre: Opened in 2018 in the heart of London’s Knowledge Quarter, the Aga Khan Centre is a place for education, cultural exchange and insight into Muslim civilisations The organisations that are located here work together to bridge the gap in understanding about Muslim cultures and to connect the public to global development issues.

The workshop will end with a Q&A, where you are invited to ask your burning questions to Daniel including questions about ACE project grants you’re working on or arts fundraising in general. All participants will get to take home a resource pack at the end, featuring everything you’ll have learnt in the session and some extra insights.
