About this event

Staying active helps both physical health and emotional wellbeing—especially for carers and those living with dementia. That’s why The Carers Support Service offers Fitness Sessions for PLWD (People Living With Dementia) and their carers in two locations across North Lincolnshire. These sessions meet on the fourth Thursday of every month* except bank holidays. You can choose between: 11:00 am at CrosbyONE, Scunthorpe (Digby Street, DN15 7LU) 1:00 pm at Thurlow Pavilion (Station Road, Epworth, DN9 1JU) Booking is essential on Each session focuses on building strength, balance, and mobility—while keeping activity fun and sociable. The movement routines are gentle and fully adaptable to suit each participant’s abilities. These classes provide more than exercise—they offer connection. You’ll work alongside others who understand your journey, and you’ll experience shared support in a relaxed environment. Physical activity can help reduce falls, boost balance, and lift mood. It also supports better sleep, memory, and heart health—benefits that matter for PLWD and carers alike. The Carers Support Service and Dementia Direct has delivered free, confidential care and services to unpaid carers across North and North East Lincolnshire for nearly 30 years. We offer peer groups, counselling, Keyworker support, benefits guidance, training, support for People Living with Dementia (PLWD) and wellbeing activities like Tai Chi and craft workshops.
