Radical Motion: Learning disabled leadership in dance

Learn more about learning disabled leadership in dance in this workshop, delivered by Hannah Sampson and Stopgap as part of Radical Motion – a new disability-dance festival for Folkestone, hosted by Confidance. Stopgap's Senior Dance Artist, Hannah Sampson, will share a day in the life of a senior dance will also give insights into why she felt it was important to join a board of trustees and how she balances her advocacy work with her career as a dance artist. The event will begin with a 10-15 minute speech from Hannah and be followed by a workshop, where Hannah will lead some creative tasks and explorations. This event is suitable for everyone with an interest in learning disabled leadership, dance and advocacy. No prior experience is necessary for the workshop. Please wear comfortable clothing to move in. Access Information This event welcomes people with and without learning disabilities and/or neurodivergence. What to expect: • You can stim, move or make noise during the workshop; you can take breaks when you need. • The workshop will include music and movement; feel free to bring ear defenders if helpful. • There will be no strobe lighting or full blackouts.
