Platform 4 continues to showcase some of the most prominent vocalists. Now, a decade after its introduction, Platform 4 returns with three exceptional singers, each presenting their own beautiful renditions of renowned musical compositions. Don’t miss the chance to experience these highly talented artists, hosted by our regular host Linley Weir and their accomplished musicians. Marie Herbert Born in Chicago, Marie Herbert has spent most of her life in London. Marie has enjoyed a varied creative career as a film and television actress, as well as a publisher and producer of music for advertising. Alongside this, she has written a modest collection of original songs—both words and music—and performs with The Raccateers Quintet. Despite a lifetime of singing and many years at the piano, she feels she is only just beginning to fathom its rich and inexhaustible possibilities. Sabine Pomplun Originally from Germany ,her love of jazz began through dance. A passionate dancer, she discovered jazz music through tap and Lindy Hop, and, having performed dance routines, developed a long-held aspiration to perform jazz vocally—something she has only recently begun to pursue more seriously. Sabine is particularly drawn to the swinging sounds of the 1930s and 40s . Fascinated by the human voice, she has embarked on a journey into vocal technique, studying Estill Voice Training, which is beginning to shape and influence her developing style.
