About this event
There is nothing more satisfying than passing on a craft. That is why we are proud to offer once more a Traditional Bear Making workshop where this time you get the opportunity to meet (and make) Sophie. Sophie has been specially designed for our new traditional bear-making workshop for 2026! She is an adorable 25cm in height, and created using a gorgeous ivory coloured Steiff-Schulte mohair, with English glass eyes and is fully disc jointed. The workshop will be run by experienced local bear artist from Tucker Bears. It will teach you the essential bear making basics required to produce a collectable bear or help add to your skills if you have already attended one of our workshops. You don’t need any previous bear-making experience, but we do recommend you have basic sewing skills. All your materials, including premium German mohair, and tuition will be provided; however you will need to bring a basic sewing kit (details of what needs to be included will be sent out to attendees closer to the date). This workshop is aimed at adults and over 16 year olds due to the complexity and amount of hand sewing required.
