Celebrating the Freud Museum London's 40th Anniversary

To mark the Freud Museum London’s 40th Anniversary, we warmly invite you to join us for a special afternoon celebration at the Museum, hosted by our Director, Anna Jobson. The Freud Museum opened its doors on 28 July 1986 and has since welcomed visitors from around the world to explore the remarkable story of Sigmund and Anna Freud’s final home. Four decades later, we are delighted to celebrate this important milestone with our visitors, members, patrons and everyone who has been part of the Museum’s story over the past forty years. At 1:00pm we will start our 40th-anniversary celebrations with an exclusive, behind-the-scenes exploration of the house with our Director of Education, Emilia Raczkowska. Join us for a closer look at Freud’s magnificent collection of art and over 2,000 antiquities, which the father of psychoanalysis began when he was 40 years old. Tour Sigmund and Anna’s ‘last address on this planet’ and discover how psychoanalytic ideas are reflected in the materiality of Freud’s own study. At 2.00pm, Anna Jobson, Director of the Freud Museum, will welcome guests to a celebratory anniversary cake cutting. Join us for this memorable anniversary celebration and help us mark forty years of preserving, sharing and exploring the enduring legacy of Sigmund and Anna Freud.
