A Sacred Stones site, the barrow is hosting this gentle morning event to bring people together to watch the first light enter the stone chamber, listen to the early birdsong, and enjoy the company of others as a new day begins. A Welcoming Space for All The barrow is a place for everyone. We welcome visitors from all backgrounds, philosophies, and viewpoints. This gathering does not follow any specific tradition; instead, the barrow offers a space dedicated to our shared human connection and the quiet enjoyment of nature together. Important Attendance Information To help us manage the morning safely and ensure a peaceful experience for everyone, we ask that you note the following guidelines: Free Registration: Admission is entirely free, but space is limited. Every person attending must register for a free ticket in advance via our booking link so the barrow can host everyone safely. What to Expect: This is a relaxed, quiet event. The early morning hour can be chilly and damp, so please dress in warm layers and wear sturdy footwear. You are very welcome to bring a flask with a hot drink.

The play follows her as she fights to reclaim her truth from an establishment that would rather see her silenced, offering a sharp, intellectual perspective on the events of the gothic masterpiece. Soulton Hall, built in 1556 as a monument to Renaissance humanist thought and scientific curiosity, provides a powerful backdrop for this struggle between evidence and disbelief. As the “pungency of the night” settles over our historic grounds, the atmosphere of the Victorian shadows meets the gravity of our Tudor history. This production handles the play’s themes with the seriousness they deserve, stripping away sentiment to reveal a story of survival and rebellion. Our site is a rare Tudor survivor, built by Sir Rowland Hill in the 1550s during a time of immense political danger.
