Come along to write, share, plot and plan with your creativity! Any experience or writing interest is welcome. Looking to write and share your story? Are you thinking more in poetry than prose? Did you overhear a snippet of dialogue you want to write? Join us at a new LGBTQ+ writing workshop group! Open to anyone writing or wanting to write; those with work to share for feedback, or those seeking motivation to write. This space is open to all genres and all levels of experience are welcome. We will write, share prompts, and provide feedback in a positive way centering care for the writer. Together we will form a community of writers nurturing our work and ourselves as LGBTQ+ artists. Sharing and feedback will default to English but we can adjust as we go along. These sessions are funded by the London Marathon Foundation. About the facilitator Born in Hong Kong, Karina began her martial arts journey at 4 years old. LGBTQ+ Improv Workshop

LGBTQ+ Improv Workshop

A drop-in workshop for LGBTQ+ people. No experience necessary! A drop-in workshop for LGBTQ+ people of any experience level. Improv is all about collaboration and saying yes to people’s ideas. Follow your spontaneity, trust your gut and you’ll be surprised at what worlds you can create. Improv is not just about being funny; improv is an amazing way to help people dealing with social anxiety or for people that want some practice feeling a little more free in their public speaking. This is a low-stakes workshop where we can share some laughs and maybe even make some new friends. Through games and exercises we’ll create stories, characters and learn the fundamentals of improvisation. Note: Please ensure that you arrive on time for this workshop. We will cover our code of conduct and accessibility in the first five minutes. Unfortunately we aren’t able to permit anyone who arrives late as it’s mandatory to take part in the first part of the session. Please get in touch with us if you know you’ll be running late and we will try to accommodate where we can! About the facilitator Sam Roulston (he/him) is an award winning Comedian and Writer based in London. He recently returned to the UK after living in Toronto for several years where he worked as a comedian and member of faculty at the Second City comedy theatre. Sam also performs/teaches at comedy festivals all over the world.
